Serving the ‘Best of British’ with a historical twist.
Apex Hotels are proud to have recently opened the doors of The Lampery, a restaurant and cocktail bar located on Seething Lane in the heart of historic London.
We created a brand identity for The Lampery that is defined by the concept ‘curiosity and combinations’, a concept inspired by a passion for British cuisine and it’s eclectic nature. The history of the local area and its illustrious residents, the famous author Samuel Pepys, also plays an important part in shaping brand identity. The name of the restaurant is taken from a dish greatly admired by Pepys and mentioned in his diary, ‘the Lampery pye’. The literary influence of Pepys can be found amongst the pages of the menu and other printed collateral in the restaurant where you will discover ‘foodie’ quotes from his diary. Bespoke illustrations by Randy Mora were also created to support the narrative of the brand. These Vibrant and eclectic illustrations bring colour and life to the brand in the physical environment of the restaurant.
To launch The Lampery we put together a strong media strategy that targeted key London food writers and a local London audience. The campaign focused on promoting the best-of-British offering and creating intrigue around the Pepys influence. The result was coverage across a range of titles online and printed media.
